FAQ
1. Does the owner need to assist during treatments?
Yes, the owner must be able to control their pet during treatments.
2. Why would the veterinarian asks the owner to visit a clinic, instead of providing treatment, and are they allowed to?
Yes. As a veterinarian it is important to be aware of his or hers limitations when providing adequate treatment. There are many cases of illness that can only be treated safely and correctly at a clinic. If the veterinarian realises that the pets condition is highly critical or the case is too complicated, the veterinarian will ask you to visit a clinic. These cases will be explained in the clinical journal provided by the veterinarian.
3. Why do I have to sign documents before euthanasia of my pet?
It is important to confirm that the owner is aware of the consequences and process of euthanasia, and that they agree to the cause of it. The owners must read and sign a contract, that ensures a mutual understanding of consequence between the owner and the veterinarian.
As well as giving the veterinarian the right to do the euthanasia of the owners pet.
4. May my pet need a muzzle? Why would it be necessary to use a muzzle?
Yes. I expect every owner to be honest whether or not their dog has acted out towards veterinarians or nurses during clinical visits. In case of visits in their pets home, this is even more important as some pets may guard their home towards strangers. This is normal for many pets due to their natural instincts.
If the veterinarian asks you to muzzle your pet, it is to protect you as the owner, your pet from injuries or accidents and the veterinarian from injuries.
5. Do I have to pay if something unexpected occurs or no treatment is provided during visits?
Yes, you need to pay for the driving costs.
